This University is one of the world’s leading teaching and research institutions on the west coast. The university is organized around three traditional schools consisting of 40 academic departments at the undergraduate and graduate level and four professional schools that focus on graduate programs in law, medicine, education, and business. Its facilities – spread across several campuses, are home to 20,000 students and 7,000 staff and faculty members.
Telecom-related invoices totaling $6 Million in annual spending were historically handled by the telecom department. The lead analyst responsible for reviewing all the billing had captured well over $1 Million in refunds and savings for the university by removing the low hanging fruit but felt there was still money left on the table. The team lacked expert knowledge and context for deciphering the invoices from our various telecom providers. The team decided that getting assistance with a forensic invoice audit from an external resource would both elevate visibility into telecom expenditures and usage while recouping additional dollars that may have been overlooked. This approach would permit the internal group to focus their efforts on their particular subject matter expertise and thereby be better utilized.

to Intelligent Bills for having the most compelling solution to meet the university’s requirements. Intelligent Bills tailored solutions focused on creating a complete inventory of all billed services, performing an on- campus tone and tag review, sourcing existing telecom agreements, and a deep forensic contract/tariff validation on all billing. This incorporated all Legacy Voice, SIP, Data, and Mobility Services.
